
March corn started a little lower Friday, but by the end of the day closed up 8 3/4 cents — one of only two grain-related contracts to post a higher close for the day. Soybeans, meal and all three wheats saw another day of lower prices with rain in the forecast for southern South America.
GENERAL COMMENTS:
March corn closed up 8 3/4 cents and July corn was up 5 3/4 cents. March soybeans closed down 7 1/2 cents and July soybeans were down 8 3/4 cents. March KC wheat closed down 14 3/4 cents, March Chicago wheat was down 5 1/4 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was down 17 1/4 cents.
The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.42 at 95.19. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 336.39 points at 35,777.23. February gold is down $4.00 at $1,817.40, March silver is down $0.23 at $22.94 and March copper is down $0.1180. February crude oil is up $1.68 at $83.80, February heating oil is up $0.0245, February RBOB gasoline is up $0.0361 and February natural gas is up $0.016.
