    DTN Grain Close: Specs Push Row Crops Higher on South American Concerns

    March corn closed up 20 1/4 cents and March soybeans were up 34 1/4 cents to their highest close since June, driven by speculative buying as concerns about dry weather conditions in southern Brazil and Argentina get more attention.

    GENERAL COMMENTS:

    March corn closed up 20 1/4 cents and July corn was up 16 3/4 cents. March soybeans closed up 34 1/4 cents and July soybeans were up 30 1/2 cents. March KC wheat closed up 12 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat was up 12 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was up 2 3/4 cents.

    The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.06 at 96.27. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 206.80 points at 36,791.86. February gold is up $15.20 at $1,815.30, March silver is up $0.27 at $23.08 and March copper is up $0.0480. February crude oil is up $0.99 at $77.07, February heating oil is up $0.0510, February RBOB gasoline is up $0.0217 and February natural gas is down $0.093.
