
Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: March corn is up 1/2 cent, January soybeans are up 6 1/4 cents, and March KC wheat is up 7 cents.
CME Globex Recap: Early Friday, Dow Jones futures are mildly weaker, with European and Asian markets lower. The bond market is mixed.
Ag markets are again firmer early on Friday, with winter wheats bouncing a bit for the second straight day, along with soybeans and meal. Weather in South America is being closely watched for the projected warm and dry conditions ahead.
OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 29.79 at 35,897.54 and the S&P 500 up 75.76 at 4,709.85 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.426%. Early Friday, the March DJIA futures are down 38 points.
Asian markets are lower, with Japan’s Nikkei down 520.64 (-1.79%) and China’s Shanghai Composite down 42.65 points (-1.16%). European markets are also lower with London’s FTSE 100 down 1.67 points (0.03%), Germany’s DAX down 115.49 points (+0.73%) and France’s CAC 40 down 50.42 points (0.73%).
The March Euro is up 0.001% at 1.14 and the March U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.005 at 96.01. The March 30-Year T-Bond is unchanged, while February gold is up 9.80 at $1,807.80 and Feb crude oil is down 1.24 at $70.92.
Soybeans on China’s Dalian Exchange were lower with soybean meal also lower.
