
Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: March corn is up 1 1/2 cents per bushel, January soybeans are up 8 1/2 cents, and March KC wheat is down 6 3/4 cents.
CME Globex Recap: Equity markets are firmer around the globe overnight but U.S. futures are off a bit. Energy markets are up sharply overnight with crude oil posting 2.4% gains. The U.S. Dollar Index is flat. Metals markets are firmer overnight. Grains are mixed in the overnight with wheat lower while row crops and products are higher.
OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 617.75 at 34,639.79 and the S&P 500 up 64.06 at 4,513.04 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.448%. Early Friday, the December DJIA futures are down 74 points.
Asian markets are higher with Japan’s Nikkei 225 up 276.2 (1%) and China’s Shanghai Composite up 33.6 points (0.94%). European markets are lower with London’s FTSE 100 down 5.28 points (-0.07%), Germany’s DAX down 36.33 points (-0.24%) and France’s CAC 40 down 15.76 points (-0.23%).
The December Euro is up 0.001 at 1.130 and the December U.S. dollar index is up 0.007 at 96.165. The March 30-Year T-Bond is up 11/32nds, while February gold is up $9.80 at $1,772.50 and January crude oil is up $1.59 at $68.09.
Soybeans on China’s Dalian Exchange were up 1.03% while soybean meal was up 1.44%.
