The weather forecast for this week shows mostly sunny days with evening and early morning temps in the low 30s rising to the mid 40s by Thursday and daytime temperatures in the low 60s warming up to the low 70s by Thursday afternoon.
A few large lots including Blends have come onto the market while small tree lots are slow coming in. Most growers that are not holding pecans in storage are gathering up what they have left and getting sizes sorted out to command a higher price of what is left to offer this year. Georgia should be finished for the year around Christmas time or sooner.
Deliveries of Schley Blends (nut count under 65) 48-54% meat yield sold in a range of about $4.20 per point. Other Blends (nut count under 50) 48-54% meat yield sold in a range of about $4.10-4.20 and lots with (nut count 60-70) 48-54% meat yield sold in a range of about $4.05-4.15 per point.
The gift pack and candy businesses are still fairly busy purchasing top quality pecans while the export business has yet to make any impact. Online business is doing well for early gift buyers.
