    Texas: Private Pesticide Applicator Training, Austin, Aug. 28

    The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service for Travis County will present a Private Pesticide Applicator Training Aug. 28 at the agency’s office at 1600-B Smith Road, Austin.

    Day-of registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., with training from 8:00 a.m.-noon. Lunch is not included.

    “This training is for people wanting to obtain a Texas Department of Agriculture license to apply restricted-use pesticides on their property,” said Dr. Noel Troxclair, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent, Travis County. “Study materials are available at the AgriLife Extension office and can be picked up in advance.”

    The cost is $50 per person, which includes the training and study materials.

    Cash, checks or money orders are acceptable means of payment with checks or money orders preferred. Checks or money orders are preferable and should be made payable to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.

    Troxclair said this license cannot be used for commercial, government or for-hire applicators.

    Participants should bring a calculator and photo identification.
