An update meeting on the sugarcane aphid and its potential impact on California sorghum will take place in Parlier onTuesday, February 28, from 10 a.m. to noon, with lunch following.
The meeting will be held in the Nectarine Room, UC-ANR-KARE at 9240 S. Riverbend Ave. in Parlier.
Topics include overviews on this new pest, sugarcane aphid (SCA) management, research on breeding SCA-resistant sorghum and efforts to gain registrations for new insecticides that offer control of SCA.
The meeting is sponsored by Sorghum Partners, a part of the Chromatin Inc., seed company.
