The EPA has granted a specific exemption for sulfoxaflor (Transform) under Section 18, granting sorghum growers the use of the pesticide for control of sugarcane aphids. The exemption is effective April 9,2017 and expires November 30,2017.
In January the Texas Department of Agriculture recertified that the emergency situation that prompted the Section 18 approval last season still exists. There are no changes in use directions, including use rates and type of application, from the previous exemption.
