Alabama Cooperative Extension will host two Crop Production Meetings at E.V. Smith Research Center (4725 County Road 40 Shorter, AL).
The first meeting will cover Corn, Beans and Carinata. It is set for January 31 beginning at 4:00 pm. Speakers at the Corn, Bean and Carinata meeting include: Joyce Tredaway, covering Xtend and Enlist Technologies, Austin Hagan will discuss nematode and disease control in corn, Christine Bliss with Agrisoma will talk carinata, Tim Reed will give an insect update and Luke Carter, a Graduate Student, will discuss 2016 soybean irrigation research data.
The second meeting is The Cotton Pickin’ Round Table on February 27. The meeting starts at 4:00 p.m. Speakers will include our new cotton specialist Trey Cutts, Ron Smith, Steve Li will talk about tank clean out and nozzle selection and Graduate Students Will Groover and Stephen Till will present research data on cotton yield loss due to nematodes and the benefits of Velum Total.
Alabama Cooperative Extension will also host a Meeting February 7 at the ALFA Building in Talladega (314 Battle St. E). The meeting will start at 5:00 p.m. Speakers at the Talladega Meeting include Joyce Tredaway, Austin Hagan and Max Runge will have the 2017 Economic Outlook. Meals will be served at all meetings and CCA points will be available.
