    Texas: National Cotton Council Annual Meeting, Dallas, Feb. 5-7

    You are cordially invited to the National Cotton Council’s 2016 Annual Meeting, Feb. 5-7, at the Omni Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas.

    Information, including online meeting registration (registration fee waived for news media), is available here. Room reservations ($189 single/double) can be made here or by calling the Omni reservations department at 1-800-843-6664. The cut-off date for making room reservations is Wednesday, January 13, 2016, 5:00 p.m. CST.

    The special room rate will be honored after the cut-off date based on the availability of convention-rated rooms. For air and car rental reservations, contact Kitty Rutledge, the NCC’s travel consultant at Travelennium, at 800-844-4924 (ext. 322) or krutledge@travelennium.com.

    The ’16 convention’s first events begin at 1:30 pm on Friday, Feb. 5 with the National Cotton Ginners Association’s board of directors’ session and its annual meeting. Note that the American Cotton Producers meeting at 3 p.m. that day is a closed business session (not open to news media).

    House Agriculture Committee Chairman Mike Conaway (R-TX) is scheduled to provide the keynote address at the “Program Committees Joint Meeting and Economic Outlook” that begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb 6. The NCC’s planting intentions survey results will be announced in that session at about 9:30 a.m. (CST). Some of the Interest Caucuses that afternoon may be closed to media.

    All attendees are invited to attend a “Welcome to Dallas” reception on Friday night in the hotel. The Saturday luncheon will feature “2016 Political and Election Outlook” by David Wasserman, House editor for the Cook Political Report. The last event, the General Session, which begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7 and concludes by noon, will feature NCC Chairman Sledge Taylor’s report and the NCC’s 2015 Activity Report.
