The Southeast Alabama Agronomy Tour (Henry / Dale Counties) will be Thursday September 3rd, 2015. The Tour will begin at the Wiregrass Research and Extension Center 167 Hwy 134 East Headland, Al 36345.
The tour will consist of learning about Sunn Hemp and how this crop is a soil builder, tour Cotton and Peanut Variety Trials, Travel to a Sesame Farm and learn if this is a crop worth considering, tour a high residue cropping system and learn the benefits of such a system, and tour Sub surface drip irrigation and its application on a Southeast Alabama Farm.
There is no cost in attending and a sponsored lunch will be provided. The Alabama Cotton Commission has sponsored the event.
