Deliveries by growers to delivery points of Improved varieties were moderate. Demand was fairly good for good quality pecans. Harvesting has begun finishing up in on some areas, and overall is approximately 95% complete.
Buying interest displayed by end users was moderate for gift pack use, and for commercial sheller use as shellers continue to utilize inventories on hand or make purchases from other production areas or wait for additional availability of nuts. Trading was moderate for in-shell and gift pack uses. Deliveries and purchases of Improved varieties mostly Western Schley were moderate.
The weather forecast for the balance of the week calls for low temperatures in the mid-10s to upper 30s, with highs in the upper 30s to upper 60s. A 20-30 percent chance of precipitation is projected for Wednesday, January 21, and a 10-90 percent chance of precipitation on Thursday, January 22. No precipitation is projected for the other days this week.
