    Oklahoma Pecans: Only Clean Up Trade Remains

    Deliveries by growers to buying points very light as harvest is complete and only clean-up trade remains. In eastern Oklahoma some lots of pecans showing excessive moisture. Current cold, dry weather expected to remedy this soon. Other quality problems such as high nut counts and low meat yields also reported.

    The weather forecast for the week calling for highs in the upper 20s to upper 30s and lows in the teens to low 30s.

    No interest reported from out-of-state shellers. Accumulator demand was light to moderate. No improved varieties reported.

    Prices paid to growers (afternoon Thursday, December 18, 2014 through noon Thursday, January 8, 2015) at buyers delivery points or F.O.B. the orchard including direct sales to end users, cents per pound, in-shell of generally good quality in lots of 20,000 pounds or less unless otherwise stated.

    • Natives/Seedlings (deliveries very light) machine harvested 65-80, yard tree lots 50-60
    • Improved varieties (mostly Blends) yard tree lots 70-75
