Arkansas Rice: Yield Results from Research Verification Program

The following table is the final yield information for the Rice Research Verification Program. We would like to thank the County Agents and Cooperators for participating in this year’s program. A wet, cool spring resulted in a late planted crop. Delays in planting combined with irregular cool periods during key stages of plant development led to erratic but generally positive yields near last year’s record average yield.

Average yields for the 16 fields was 186 Bu/A; 19 Bu/A better than the state average. The average milling yield was 60/70 with head rice yields ranging from a low 56% to a high of 67%. Economic information is still being processed for the final report.
