Pennsylvania: Interseeder Cover Crops Field Tour, Rock Springs, Oct. 16

The Penn State Cover Crop interseeder is being developed to provide opportunities for early cover crop seeding, particularly where opportunities for post harvest cover cropping are limited. On October 16, the Penn State team is pulling together a field day of our interseeder research at the Russell Larson Research Farm at Gate D, near Pine Grove Mills, PA (Rock Springs).

This will cover a range of new research topics that are being evaluated this year.  The tour will start at 10 am and finish by 3 pm and lunch is included.  Topics will include different cover crop species and different varieties of annual ryegrass in corn, potential for interseeding in soybeans, herbicide screening and cover crop safety, equipment options, and funding cover crop establishment.  New equipment issues will also be discussed.  Also, using the interseeder for wildlife food plot establishment and in organic crop production will be featured.

Lunch will be provided for those who register online by Tuesday, Oct. 14 here or by calling 814-863-1018.
