    Missouri: Wheat Harvest Underway, Corn in Good Condition – USDA

    Wheat harvest is underway in Missouri, with farmers harvesting 29 percent of the crop during the week ending June 22. Statewide temperatures averaged 78.9 degrees, 4.7 degrees above normal. The state average for rainfall was 0.53 inches. There were 4.9 days suitable for fieldwork during the week. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 16 percent short, 74 percent adequate, and 10 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 5 percent very short, 23 percent short, 67 percent adequate, and 5 percent surplus. Corn condition was rated 75 percent good to excellent. Winter wheat progressed to 93 percent turning color.

     

    Winter wheat condition was rated 52 percent good to excellent. Soybean planting progressed to 93 percent complete. Soybeans emerged progressed to 86 percent. Soybean condition was rated 70 percent good to excellent. Cotton squaring progressed to 36 percent complete, 17 percentage points above last week. Pasture condition was rated 8 percent poor, 41 percent fair, 47 percent good, and 4 percent excellent.
