Michigan: Little Rain, Corn Looking Good – USDA

There were 4.2 days suitable for fieldwork in Michigan during the week ending June 22, according to the Great Lakes Regional office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service. Average rainfall for the week varied across regions, but most parts of the state received at least an inch of much needed rain last week. Overall, corn and soybean stands are looking good despite their late planting and being behind. In spite of wet conditions hindering fieldwork, some activities for the week included weed and orchard spraying as well as hay cutting.
