National Peanut Board will hold its quarterly Board and committee meetings April 1 – 2, 2014, at Southwind Plantation in Attapulgus, Ga. The meeting will include a Grower Summit and listening session with growers from Georgia Peanut Commission.
The Grower Summit continues the National Peanut Board’s practice of visiting a peanut-producing state once a year during the regularly scheduled board meeting. The purpose is to promote open dialogue about the challenges and opportunities peanut farmers face and to help foster dialogue between growers.
Last year, the Board met with the Texas Peanut Producers Board in San Antonio, Texas, and prior to that, National Peanut Board met with Alabama Peanut Producers Association in Clear Point, Ala.
On Tuesday, April 1, the Board will meet in General Session followed by meetings of the Budget and Finance Committee and the By-laws & Policy Committee. On Wednesday, April 2, the Promotions, Strategic Planning, and the Grower & Industry Communications Committees will meet.
All meetings will take place at Southwind Plantation, 670 Bower Station Road, Attapulgus, Ga.
