    • Greenville Online reports that South Carolina farmers are expected to plant more peanuts this year, but not as many as 2012. With high domestic stocks and increased production in China and India, the market is somewhat shaky. In addition, farmers are still navigating the newly passed Farm Bill and what effects it may have on their planting decisions. However Clemson Extension specialists note that “We need to maintain our peanut acreage in order to facilitate crop rotation,” and advise patience before finalizing any strategy decisions.
