AgFax Wildlife Review: Wild Hogs Delay Texas Golf Course Opening

The Palms at Pleasure Island Golf Course in Port Arthur originally was scheduled to open by the fall of 2013, but wild hogs started tearing up the ground, causing delays.

In Tennessee, officials recently caught a 250-pound wild hog roaming inside the city limits of Knoxville.

“There’s no closed season on feral hogs. They can be particularly vulnerable in late winter, before the spring green-up,” writes Ray Sasser of the Dallas Morning News in a column about shooting the invasive creatures.

In Florida, some residents of the College Park area of Orlando say their neighborhood has been turned into a pigsty with at least two wild hogs rummaging through yards.

In Texas, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has reopened the public comment period regarding the lesser prairie-chicken listing, Terry and Yoakum Counties Integrated Pest Management posted.
