Convoy 40SC Fungicide Receives EPA Registration

From a company release

Convoy, a new liquid formulation of flutolanil from Nichino America, has received EPA approval for use on peanut white mold/Southern stem rot (Sclerotium rolfsii) and limb rot/pod rot (Rhizoctonia solani).

“Convoy offers the excellent soilborne disease control and yields growers have come to expect with Artisan® fungicide,” says Carolyn Syphrit, marketing manager for Nichino, “with the added flexibility of being able to tank mix with the leaf spot fungicide that best fits their disease management program.”

Like Moncut fungicide, Convoy contains flutolanil.

“Flutolanil has a long ‘shelf-life’ in the soil, which is especially important to dryland growers,” says Syphrit. “It will also dry up white mold should growers find they can’t get by with a generic product in a high pressure year.”

Convoy is more concentrated than Artisan, which reduces application rates and spray volume, she added. Depending on disease pressure, Convoy is applied at 20-26 oz in a 2 block spray program, and 10-13 oz in a 4 block spray program.

In dryland peanuts with low soilborne disease pressure, Convoy can be applied at 8.5 oz in a 4 block spray program.

“This makes Convoy a cost-effective option for dryland growers seeking to maximize yields,” said Syphrit.
